Gabriel longs to become a knight and follow in his father’s footsteps. But in a kingdom of dragon shape-shifters, the only way to do so is to prove his worth to the Wyvern king by winning the Knight’s Annual Recruiting Tournament.

The only problem? In order to compete, he must partner with a Drake in the Knight’s Order who can vouch for his character… and his stepfather is his only option.

Gabriel must learn to accept help from someone different from him if he wants to earn his place.

Voices of the Future: Stories of Strength and Sacrifice is an Author Conservatory anthology featuring twelve short stories written by twelve debut authors who are honing their writing, marketing, and publishing skills so they can become the authors of the next generation and make their dreams come true. All of the profits from this anthology go to helping these young authors attend writers conferences, pitch to agents, receive manuscript assessments and take the big steps toward publication.​​

You want stories that don't spoon-feed you the gospel and instead encourage you with intentional biblical truths through the character's journey.

But the books you find now seem only to ​rely on complicated plots, morally grey love interests, and questionable "strong female protagonists" to hold your attention. Where is the joy that you used to find in fantasy? You shut the book feeling more empty and discouraged than before.

That's Why I Write
I've read so many fantasy novels that I've struggled to finish for this very reason. I write speculative fantasy books with themes of identity, found family, and coming of age, from a Christian worldview that don't spoon-feed you the gospel or shy away form asking difficult questions. Through these stories, my goal is to give you, the reader, hope for your future and the courage you need to slay your own dragons.

I've been writing since I was twelve, and have recently graduated the Author Conservatory with training in all of the writing, platform, and marketing skills needed to write and sell books well. My short story, Becoming a Dragon Knight, was published in the Author Conservatory's seventh anthology Voices of the Future: Stories of Strength and Sacrifice.
